My peers would describe me as a genuine, self-motivated person who is considerate to others with a genuine liking and understanding of people. I have over 10 years of valuable experience in a range of modalities which include but are not limited to Cardiac Radiography, Interventional radiography, Vascular Hybrid theatre and PACS administrator duties. I am proficient to use following interventional cardiac equipment Toshiba, Philips and GE systems (single and bi-plane, Hybrid) and my present role has allowed me to gain immense experience in a variety of cases from angiograms to angioplasty’s to endovascular procedures.

I work within a multidisciplinary team which requires immense communication to ensure lists are running efficiently and effectively without compromising on patient care. I always ensure I am communicating with patient, relatives, staff and students in a polite and respectable manner.

My main role is to ensure the provisions of the service are continually met within my specialist areas by proficiently undertaking and producing quality images for a variety of examinations to acceptable standards of the department without compromising on the quality of service or standard of care.

Furthermore, I am trained to carry out intravenous cannulations and have an intermediate life support (ILS) qualification, giving me the knowledge to deal with complex cardiac arrest situations within the labs. As one of the senior members of the tem I also support and mentor junior radiography staff and students, giving them an insight of how to work in an intense environment without compromising on the quality of service.

As a cardiac radiographer at UHB I have been blessed to work in a great team where we have a family network relationship. I have always had support on hand when required and I am now being given the opportunity to further advance my career in leadership and advance practice.
