Good Hope Hospital

coral-buildings-003514Good Hope Hospital serves North Birmingham, Sutton Coldfield and a large part of south east Staffordshire, including Burntwood, Lichfield and Tamworth. The catchment population is about 450,000. The Hospital with over 500 beds provides acute and general medicine and other specialist services including the Partnership Learning Centre, which is part-funded by the Medical School of the University of Birmingham. The Hospital’s education centre also includes a library. A diagnostic treatment centre is situated at this site and includes imaging services for plain film, mammography, ultrasound and bone densitometry.

The Radiology Department at this site has:

  • 2 CT scanners a 64 and 16slice (CT Head & Neck scans provided by radiographers on site 24/7)
  • 1.5T MRI scanner (operational 8am – 8pm, 7 days a week)
  • Ultrasound
  • Gamma Camera
  • Mammography
  • Interventional Radiology
  • Cardiology
  • Fluoroscopy
  • 1 Digital Radiography unit, 4 computerised radiography rooms and OPG
  • Mobiles and mobile c-arms
  • Bone Densitometry

Out of hours ED Radiography Arrangements:

  • 2 Radiographers 11pm – 7am (1 x band 5, 1 x band 6)
  • 2 Radiographers Noon – 8pm (1 x band 5, 1 x band 6)
  • 2 Radiographer 3pm – 11pm (1 x band 5, 1 x band 6)
  • 1 Radiographer 7am – 3pm (1 x band 5 or 6)
